Surah Fussilat is the forty-first chapter of the Quran and is composed of 54 verses. The chapter is part of the “Ha Mim” series of surahs, which begin with the Arabic letters “Ha” and “Mim”. The name “Fussilat” means “explained in detail”, which refers to the detailed explanations of important concepts found in the chapter.
Surah Fussilat was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) during the Meccan period of his prophethood. The Meccan period was a time when the early Muslims faced persecution from the non-believers in Mecca. The purpose of Surah Fussilat was to provide encouragement and support to the Muslims in the face of this adversity.
