Tafsir Surah Al Anfal Ayat 11

In this verse of Surah Anfal, Allah describes a specific incident during the Battle of Badr, where the believers were granted a special favor and assistance from Him. The verse recounts how Allah caused drowsiness to overcome the believers as a form of security, providing them with a sense of tranquility and reassurance.

During the battle, the believers were facing a much larger and better-equipped enemy. To grant them an advantage, Allah made them experience drowsiness, which allowed them to rest and regain strength. This drowsiness served as a form of protection, shielding them from the anxieties and fears that typically accompany such situations.

Additionally, Allah sent down rain from the sky upon the believers. This rain had a dual purpose: to purify them and wash away any impurities or dirt that they may have acquired during the battle, and to remove the evil influence of Satan from their hearts.

The verse further mentions that this divine assistance served to make the believers’ hearts steadfast and firm in their faith, and it also strengthened their resolve. By granting them security, purification, and steadfastness, Allah ensured that they would be able to stand firmly on the battlefield, both physically and spiritually.

Overall, this verse highlights the special favors and support that Allah provides to the believers in times of hardship and struggle. It demonstrates His ability to grant them tranquility, purification, and steadfastness, and serves as a reminder of the believers’ reliance on Allah in all aspects of their lives.
