Surah Ibrahim Ayat 22 in English

“And Satan said when the matter was decided, ‘Indeed, Allah had promised you the promise of truth. And I promised you, but I betrayed you. But I had no authority over you except that I invited you, and you responded to me. So do not blame me; but blame yourselves. I cannot come to your aid, nor can you come to my aid. Indeed, I deny your association of me [with Allah] before. Indeed, for the wrongdoers is a painful punishment.'”

Explanation:

In this verse from the Quran (Surah Ibrahim, 14:22), Satan (also known as Iblis) is depicted speaking to those who followed him. He acknowledges that Allah had made a promise of truth to them, but he himself had also made promises to them that he did not fulfill. Satan admits that he had no authority or control over them; his only influence was in inviting them to stray from the right path, and they willingly responded to his call.

Satan then shifts the blame back to the individuals themselves, stating that they should not blame him but rather hold themselves accountable for their choices. He emphasizes that he cannot come to their aid nor can they come to his aid, as they are both separate entities with no mutual assistance. Satan also declares his rejection of any association with Allah that people had ascribed to him in the past, asserting that he disavows any connection to those who associated partners with Allah.

The verse concludes by stating that the wrongdoers will face a severe and painful punishment. This verse serves as a reminder of personal accountability and the consequences of straying from the path of truth.

Surat Ibrahim Ayat 22 Dan Artinya
